Warner , Zampa controls Australia's destiny as West Indies loses 1st T20I by 11 runs

The first T20 match was played between Australia and West Indies on the grounds of Hobart.  The first match is won by Australia as it defeated West Indies by 11 runs.  Batting first, the Australian team scored 213 runs in 20 overs.  In reply, West Indies team could score  202 runs for 8 wickets after a thrilling chase mainly by their openers & later Holder .  The West Indies team was completely in the match for the first 10 overs but the amazing bowling of leg spinner Adam Zampa gave victory to Australia.

Brandon King and Johnson Charles gave a wonderful start to West Indies.  Both had added 89 runs in 8 overs at blistering pace  but after this Zampa came on the attack and broke this partnership by dismissing Johnson Charles for 42 runs.  After this, Brandon King also got out after scoring a half-century.  This batsman returned to the pavilion after scoring a dazzling  53 runs in 37 balls.  However the middle order of Windies completely collapsed.  Maxwell dismissed Windies captain Powell on 14.  Hope had a brief stay .  Nicholas Pooran, famous for hitting sixes, could score only 18 runs in 17 balls.  Zampa also dismissed him.  Zampa also took the big wicket of Andre Russell bowling him 1st ball as Russell tried to swing across the line .  Zampa took 3 wickets for just 26 runs in 4 overs. Jason Holder smashed  an explosive 15 ball 34 at the end with big six hitting but even that was not enough for the West Indies to win

Talking about Australia's batting, David Warner batted brilliantly and scored a spectacular 70 runs in just 36 balls.  This left-handed batsman hit 12 fours and one six in his dazzling  innings.  Apart from him, Josh Inglis played a breezy innings of 39 runs.  In the end Tim David scored an explosive 37 runs in 17 balls & Wade hit unbeaten 21 in 13 balls after the middle order of Marsh (16) , Maxwell (12) & Stoinis (9) faltered

Even though Australia won this match, the bowlers of both the teams were badly smashed .  A total of 16 sixes were hit in this match.  415 runs were scored in the match.  It is clear that the fans would have liked this match very much.  Now it remains to be seen whether West Indies will be able to make a comeback in the T20 series or not?
