England fell short by 106 runs despite brave efforts, series tied 1-1 vs India

Rohit Sharma's India avenged the loss in Hyderabad in Visakhapatnam.  India beat England by 106 runs in the second Test.  The game was over in four days.  India equalized the series.

Zak Crawley and Rehan Ahmed started the fourth day's play.  Both were playing well together.  Rohit Sharma gives the ball to  Bumrah on one side and Akshar Patel on the other side.  Both tried but could not pick up wickets.  Akshar gave England the first shock of the day.  Rehan got out lbw to a ball that kept low  after scoring 23 runs.

At the end of the third day, England said that they will not change their style of play even if the target is big.  That can be seen in the game of English batters.  Ollie Pope came out to bat and started playing sweep, reverse sweep from the start.  As a result, runs were increasing.  Pope was finally dismissed by Ravichandran Ashwin for 23 runs off 21 balls.  Captain Rohit took a spectacular catch at slip.

Joe Root also started with a reverse sweep from the first ball.  Despite losing two consecutive wickets, they did not slow down the pace of scoring runs.  Root got out while playing a big shot off Ashwin after scoring 16 runs off 10 balls. It was a bizarre innings by England's best batter .  Crawley held England's innings on one side.  He reached a half century.  Crawley looked good as he was driving and pulling in breathtaking fashion and looked in magnificent touch .

England suffered two major shocks just before the lunch break.  Kuldeep Yadav returned Crawley who batted first for 73 runs.  The umpire did not give out first.  Rohit was successful with the review & the ball showed as hitting the stumps .  After that, Jonny Bairstow was left lbw for 26 runs to another Bumrah delivery .

England's hopes rested on Ben Stokes.  But he was run out to a brilliant direct hit by Shreyas Iyer .  Stokes did not realize that Shreyas Iyer's throw would hit the wicket directly.  After Stokes got out, Ben Foakes and Tom Hartley formed the partnership.  They were playing very well.     As a result, the bowlers were having trouble getting them out.  A 55-run stand was made between the two as boundaries & sixes flowed .

Bumrah broke the pair getting Foakes (36) caught and bowled.    Mukesh Kumar took the wicket of Shoaib Bashir who was caught behind .  Bumrah also took the last wicket.  The game ended with Hartley bowled for 36 runs.  England lost the match by 106 runs

There were 3 major performances for India which led to this victory . Yashasvi Jaiswal 's brilliant 209 rescued India from embarrassment in the first innings while Gill's hundred covered up another mediocre Indian performance in the second innings. Meanwhile Bumrah kept coming to the rescue whenever the bowlers struggled to get the breakthrough . Bumrah for his 9 wickets in the match got the player of the match .
