Marsh , David pull off sensational last ball win vs NZ in 1st T20I

Australia snatched victory from the jaws of defeat vs New Zealand on Wednesday.  The Aussies won this T20 match by scoring 12 runs on the last 3 balls.  New Zealand had saved its most experienced bowler Tim Southee for the last over.  But when Australia's Tim (David) came in front of Tim Southee, the New Zealand bowler lost his direction in the last 3 balls .  Tim David won the match for Australia by hitting a six, two runs and a four on the last three balls.  Tim David played a blistering unbeaten innings of 31 runs in 10 balls with explosive sixes

A T20 match was played between Australia and New Zealand in Wellington on Wednesday.  This was the first match of the 3 T20 match series between the two teams.  Batting first in this match, host New Zealand made a huge score of 215 runs for 3 wickets.  But Australia proved this score to be chasable and won the match by losing just 4 wickets in a sensational finish .

Batting first , the hosts were off to a blistering start with Finn Allen smacking 32 off 17 balls and Conway timing the ball well in a welcome return to form . They raced to 61 in 6 overs before Allen departed . However recent world cup hero Rachin Ravindra came out and played an absolute blinder scoring a spectacular 68 off just 35 balls with 6 sixes some of which were beautifully timed . Conway finally departed for 63 dismissed by Marsh but Phillips (19*) and Chapman (18*) provided great finishing touches to the innings as  New Zealand piled on a mammoth 215/3 .  Bowling figures of  Australia's formidable bowling lineup  did not provide a pleasant reading .

Chasing the huge target of 216, every Australian batsman scored runs quickly.  In this effort, they also lost wickets, but due to maintaining the asking run rate better, the Australian team never came under extreme pressure.  Head (24) and Warner (32) provided a blistering start in the powerplay and then Maxwell was playing an explosive innings of 25 runs in just 11 balls before he was bowled by Ferguson.  Inglis (20) didnt quite get his flow but captain Mitchell Marsh played a dazzling  unbeaten innings of 72 runs on 44 balls , full of explosive bondaries and sixes by cutting , slashing and pulling ferociously.  When Australia lost the fourth wicket, it needed 44 runs to win from 19 balls.  That means on average more than 2 runs are required on every ball.  Tim David made this difficult challenge easy.  He scored 31 runs in just 10 balls with ferocious hits and achieved the target in the last over when Australia needed 16 in 6 balls . After Southee bowled tight in the first half of the over Tim David took him on in the last 3 balls flicking the 4th ball for 6 , taking 2 off the next and drilling the last ball through mid wicket for 4 to get Australia a sensational victory from the jaws of defeat .

Mitchell Marsh for his breathtaking 72 not out off 44 balls with 7 powerful sixes was the player of the match
