Jaiswal dazzling 100 & Siraj 4 wkts put India 322 ahead in 3rd test vs England

 



Indian bowlers made a gine comeback on day 3 of the 3rd test after the England batters had got themselves into a strong position at day 2 with score at 207/2 . Later Jaiswal scored a dazzling 100 to put India well ahead in the game with 2 days to go .



Starting the day at 207/2  England lost Root (18) early as he tried an outrageous reverse sweep off Bumrah and was superbly caught in the slips by Jaiswal . Soon Bairstow (0) was lbw to Kuldeep and finally Duckett after a glorious  153 getting out to a catch in the covers off Kuldeep .


Post lunch Stokes began to look dangerous but at 41 he was caught by Bumrah at long on off Jadeja . Then Siraj got into the act getting Foakes , Rehan and Anderson , the last 2 with searing yorkers  while Jadeja got rid of a dangerous Hartley and England from 299/5  slumped to 319 all out having lost 5 wickets for a mere 20 runs  . For India , Siraj took 4 wickets while Kuldeep & Jadeja took 2 each . 



With a lead of 126 on the 1st innings , India batted again and Rohit (19) got out lbw to Root . The early jolt made Jaiswal and Gill bat carefully for several overs before Jaiswal decided to cut loose and unleashed a flurry of strokes against the English attack . Balls flew to all parts as Jaiswal played dazzling shots all around the ground. Gill too started to play shots as India's score stsrted to move rapidly . Finally Jaiswal cut Wood for a 4 to complete another dazzling 100 but had back spasms soon after to retire at 104.


Patidar (0) failed again getting out to a long hop . Gill meanwhile completed his 50 after playing sone sizzling strokes and remained 65 not out ar close witj nightwatchman Kuldeep for company as India reached a formidable 196/2  with a lead of 322 already .
