The Kirateshwar Mahadev Temple is one of the most sacred Hindu pilgrimage sites in the Himalayan state of Sikkim. Located at Legship on the banks of the Rangit River, the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, worshipped here in the form of Kirateshwar Mahadev. The temple is associated with a famous episode from the Mahabharata, where Lord Shiva appeared as a Kirata (tribal hunter) to test the warrior Arjuna.
