Aussie women complete massive test win on day 3 after gritty fight by South Africa

 


Australia women as expected completed a massive win over a feeble South Africa womens test team by an innings and 284 runs . This astronomical margin of win was possible largely due to the visitors no show in the 1st innings when they were 76 all out . Aussies replied with a mammoth 575/9 with Annabel Sutherland scoring a magnificent 210 . South Africa ended day 2 at 67/3 . On day 3 after some strong resistance the visitors inevitably lost after their 2nd innnngs ended on a much improved 215 all out .


The overnight batters Tazmin Brits and Delmi Tucker showed lots of grit and determination as they fought long enough to build a 96 run stand  with both batters mixing gritty defence with occasional aggression . Brits finally was caught in the slips off Perry for 31 . Delmi Tucker played a gallant knock of 64 with several pleasing shots before she was caught and bowled by Gardner . Chloe Tyron played a gem of a knock as she executed several  glorious shots particularly through the off side . She fought hard with the tail but finally Sutherland had her bowled for 64 . Mlaba (15) hit some lusty blows but the Aussie bowlers got through the tail soon to complete the win .  For the hosts Garth , Brown , Sutherland and Gardner all got 2 wickets each .


 Sutherland for her 5 wickets in the match and brilliant 210 was the player of the match while Beth Mooney was the player of whole multi format series

Olympics24 : Ten men India edge out Britain in tie breaker to storm into hockey SF

  India reached the Olympic hockey semifinals by defeating Britain in a shootout. The match ended 1-1 in regulation time, leading to a shootout where India won 4-2. India played with ten players for 42 minutes to secure the victory. In the semifinals, India will face the winner of the Germany-Argentina match. A win in Tuesday's match will ensure a silver medal for last time's bronze winners at the Paris Olympics. Following the advice of video umpire , Indian defender Amit Rohidas was shown a red card in the fourth minute of the second quarter for unintentional stick contact with a British player’s head. Video umpire Goyentzen suggested it was intentional, and South African field umpire Sean Rapaport recommended a red card, resulting in India playing the rest of the match with ten players.
