Delhi Capitals crush listless UPW , Kapp , Radha shine with ball

Delhi Capitals narrowly lost to Mumbai Indians in the first match from a definite winning position .  Now Delhi has won their second match in the Women's Premier League (WPL).  Played well with bat and ball and defeated UP Warriors by 9 wickets.  This is their first win in the league this time.  If Marizanne  Kapp and Radha Yadav were the heroes with the ball, Meg Lanning and Shefali Verma won Delhi with the bat.

Delhi won the toss and decided to bowl first.  That decision worked.  In the beginning, Kapp had Vrinda (0) caught on the boundary .  After that, she also returned Tahlia McGrath to the dressing room with an  unplayable delivery that moved away & hit top of off .  Skipper Alyssa Healy returned for just 13 runs caught by Shafali off Kapp who took 3/5 in her 4 immaculate overs .  UP lost 3 wickets for 16 runs.  From there Grace Harris (17) and Shweta Sehrawat (45) managed to fight back a bit .  Apart from Shweta, none of UP's batsmen could fight back.  UP's middle order collapsed with  Radha Yadav picking up  4/20 in 4 overs of superb left arm spin  .  UP made only 119 after losing 9 wickets in the stipulated overs.

Delhi eased into the run chase.  Lanning and Shefali simply  embarrassed  the UP bowlers as they stroked boundaries with ease . Lanning was cutting and sweeping effortlessly while Shafai was butchering the attack.  The UP Warriors failed in batting, bowling as well as fielding.  Lanning (51) got out just 1 run short of the target.  But on the other hand, Shefali's unbeaten half-century (64 from 43 balls) gave lots of excitement to the crowd with her hitting prowess   .  The winning run came off the bat of Jemima Rodrigues
