Copa24 : Brazil shrug off 1st match result with clinical 4-1 demolition of Paraguay

 



 Brazil started the Copa campaign with a draw.  Vinicius Juniors finished the first match with Costa Rica goalless.  In the second match, Brazil came back into their true fluent colours .  Vinicius Junior lit up in the jersey of the country.  He could not do justice to his name in the first match of the Copa America.  But Vinicius caught another avatar in the Paraguay match.  Vinnie Jr. scored a pair of goals.  Savio and Lucas Paqueta scored the other two goals.  Brazil destroyed Paraguay 4-1.  However, Brazil could have increased the number of goals.  Pakeha missed a penalty before even Brazil scored .  However, he later scored from the penalty spot. 


 Winning this match gives Brazil 4 points from 2 matches in Group D.  They are number two in the points table.  Colombia is the opponent of Brazil in the last match.  They have already reached the quarter finals. 


 Brazil started playing attacking football from the start of the match on Saturday.  Vinicius Jr. chose the Paraguay match to answer the detractors.  Paraguay again insisted on breaking Brazil's rhythm.  Paraguay almost scored in 15 minutes.  Brazil survived that trip thanks to goalkeeper Alisson's quickness. 


Brazil got a penalty in the 30th minute.  But that penalty was wasted by Lucas Paqueta.  Vinicius put Brazil ahead in the 35th minute.  Savio increased the gap in the 43rd minute.  Meanwhile, the footballers of both teams got into trouble.  Vinicius scored again just before the break.  Brazil took the rush of the match into their own hands. 


 Aldaret's goal reduced Paraguay's lead after the break.  After getting the goal, Paraguay tried to increase the pressure.  But goalkeeper Alisson again became the saviour.  In the 63rd minute, Brazil received a penalty for a handball inside Paraguay's box.  Paketa took the penalty again.  This time he did not waste the penalty.   In the 81st minute, Paraguayan midfielder Kubas saw a red card and Paraguay went down to ten men.  However, Brazil could not take advantage of the numerical superiority. 


So far in Copa 24 all the top teams like Argentina, Uruguay , Columbia & Brazil are well on course for next round
