T20IWC : Bowlers , Rohit shines as India decimate Ireland in opener

Rohit Sharma did not understand the character after seeing Nassau's 22 yards.  To understand, he won the toss and decided to field.  A few overs proved that the decision made from experience was not wrong.  Batting first, Ireland made a paltry 96 runs.  India scored 97 runs in 12.2 overs after losing 2 wickets.  India started the campaign with an easy win as expected, but several questions were raised about the quality of the T20 World Cup .  The question remains as to how suitable the field in New York's Nassau County is for 20-over cricket.

India's innings did not get off to a good start as they went into bat with a target of 97 runs to win.  Virat Kohli got out early (1 off 5 balls).  The highest run-scorer in the IPL started the T20 World Cup with failure.  However, Rohit and Rishabh Pant at number three tried to match the 22 yards to take the team's innings forward.  While the Indian bowlers looked dangerous during Ireland's innings, the Irish bowlers did not look as formidable.  New York skies were overcast during Ireland's innings.  The sun rises during India's innings.  Still, there will be questions about the quality of New York's field.  Uneven bounce on the pitch.  The outfield is extremely slow & insuitable for T20 cricket.   The field was empty.  All in all, questions arose about the quality of the T20 World Cup.

Like Kohli, Suryakumar Yadav also failed in the first match of T20 World Cup.  He was dismissed by Ben White for 2 runs.  After scoring 52 runs off 37 balls, captain Rohit had to leave the field with a shoulder injury.  Which is not a good sign ahead of the crucial match against Pakistan.  Rohit hit 4 fours and 3 sixes.  Rishabh Pant and Shivam Dube were at 22 yards at the end.  Pant remained unbeaten with a strokeful 36 runs off 26 balls.  He hit 3 fours and 2 sixes.  Shivam did not get a chance to run.  Ireland's most successful bowler White took 1 wicket for 6 runs.  Adair took 1 wicket for 27 runs.

The uneven bounce of the Nassau wicket and the dominance of the Indian bowlers - the Irish batsmen looked helpless in front of the pair.  Rohit used six bowlers against Ireland.  All except Ravindra Jadeja got wickets.  The Irish cricketers confirmed the future of the match by losing 8 wickets in 50 runs.  Desperate efforts from Gujarat Titans' Josh Little and Gareth Delaney saved Ireland's face in the end.  Arshdeep Singh hit a double in the third over of the Irish innings.  After that, losing wickets at regular intervals, Ireland's innings ended in 16 overs.

After Arshdeep, Ireland's bowlers struggled to Jaspreet Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Siraj .

Andy Balbirnie (5), Paul Stirling (2), Lorcan Tucker (10), Harry Tector (4), Curtis Campher (12), George Dockrell (3), Mark Adair (3), Barry McCarthy (nil).  could not give  At one time I couldn't believe it, it was a World Cup match.  Despite losing 8 for 50, Ireland made 96 thanks to Little and Delaney.  Little was the first to try some aggressive batting.  He chose Hardik, the former captain in the IPL, to kill him.  Scored 14 runs off 13 balls with the help of 2 fours.  Delaney scored 26 runs off 14 balls.  Hit 2 fours and a six.
