T20IWC : Amir shines as Pakistan secures victory over Canada in low-scoring match


 


In a closely contested low-scoring match, Pakistan emerged victorious against Canada, winning by seven wickets to get their 1st points in the T20I World cup after two back to back heartbreaking losses . 


Canada, batting first, struggled to find momentum and managed to post only 106 for 7 in their allotted overs. The standout performer for Canada was opener Aaron Johnson, who scored a gritty 53 runs, including several powerful sixes. Apart from Johnson , no Canada player could bat well.  For Pakistan, Mohammad Amir was the pick of the bowlers, delivering an impressive spell with figures of 2 for 13, swinging the ball effectively. Haris Rauf also contributed with two wickets bowling with speed , while Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah each took one wicket.


In response, Pakistan faced difficulty scoring quickly due to tight bowling from the Canadian bowlers. Saim Ayub was dismissed for just 6 runs. However, Babar Azam stabilized the innings with a patient 33 and formed a crucial partnership with Mohammad Rizwan, who remained unbeaten on 53 as he contributed in another match winning cause with a solid performance . Fakhar Zaman managed only 4 runs, but Pakistan reached the target, winning the match by seven wickets.  Mohammed Amir for his impressive bowling was the player of the match .


Mohammad Amir was named the man of the match for his outstanding bowling performance, which set the foundation for Pakistan's victory.
