T20IWC : Pakistan end their failed campaign with nervy win vs Ireland

 


Nothing depended on this match.  Because, Pakistan had already withdrawn from the current T20 World Cup.  The match against Ireland was about honor.  Pakistan somehow won that match .  Batting first, Ireland lost 9 wickets and scored 106 runs in 20 overs.  Pakistan took 18.5 overs to score 107 runs.  7 wickets fell.  Captain Babar Azam left the field after winning the match for the team.  


 Finally there was a match in Florida.  Babar won the toss and decided to bowl first.  Pakistan bowlers bowled well once again.  Shaheen Shah Afridi and Mohammad Amir put the new ball to good use.  Ireland lost 5 wickets in the power play.  None of the first five batters reached double figures.  



After 32/6, Gareth Delaney and Mark Adair tied the pair.  They took the team's run to a respectable level.  Delaney scored 31 runs.  Imad Wasim was successful among the Pak bowlers in the middle overs.  At one time it seemed that Ireland would not be able to score even 100 runs.  In the end, Joshua Little scored 22 runs to cross the team's 100 runs.  In the end, Ireland's innings ended with 106 runs for 9 wickets.


 Among Pakistan's bowlers, Shaheen who bowled superbly ,  took 3 wickets with 22 runs and Imad Wasim took 3 wickets for 8 runs.  Amir took 2 wickets for 11 runs and Harris Rauf took 1 wicket fo 17 runs.


 Pakistan did not get off to a bad start chasing runs.  Saim Ayub was playing well.  He got out after scoring 17 runs.  Mohammad Rizwan also scored 17 runs.  Pakistan scored 52 runs for 2 wickets.  From there, their batting collapsed started .  They lost 4 wickets for 10 runs.


 Abbas Afridi, who came down to play the first match of the current World Cup, paired with Babar after losing 6 wickets.  The duo's 33-run stand took Pakistan to victory.  Abbas scored 17 runs.  Shaheen played a 5-ball 13-run innings at the end to win Pakistan by 3 wickets with seven balls to spare.  Babar remained unbeaten on 32 runs. Shaheen was the player of the match
