Video : Volcano erupts again in Iceland , city evacuated

A volcano has erupted again in Iceland.  Lava has begun to erupt.  That hot lava-flow is moving into the city of Grindavik.  The city has already been evacuated by the administration.  The president of the country Gudni Johansson said that there is no danger of loss of life as a result of the eruption.

The volcano, located on the Reykjavíz peninsula in southern Iceland, began erupting at around 3am local time on 15 January.  Lava began to come out at a rapid rate.  In the famous fishing town of Grindavik, lava is feared to spread rapidly.  According to local sources, residents were evacuated from the area before the lava flow entered the city.  The lava-flow is 50 meters from the town.

This is the second eruption in a month.  The volcano woke up last December 18.  At least 4,000 residents of Grindavik were evacuated by the administration.  Hundreds of residents returned to the city in the past few days.  So this time there was no difficulty in emptying the city.  Residents were evacuated overnight yesterday, President  posted on the X handle.  There is no danger of loss of life.  However, there has been some damage to the city's infrastructure.
