Dessert : Pavlova - how to make this delicious item
Pavlova is a meringue-based dessert named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova. To prepare it:
Ingredients:
- 4 large egg whites
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon white vinegar
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream
- Fresh fruits (such as berries) for topping
Instructions:
1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, while continuing to beat until the mixture is glossy and the sugar is fully dissolved.
3. Gently fold in the vinegar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract until well combined.
4. Spoon the meringue mixture onto the prepared baking sheet, shaping it into a circle or desired shape with a slight well in the center.
5. Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and immediately reduce the temperature to 250°F (120°C). Bake for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the pavlova is crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. Allow it to cool completely in the oven with the door slightly ajar.
6. Once cooled, carefully transfer the pavlova to a serving plate. Fill the center with whipped cream and top with fresh fruits.
Serve immediately and enjoy this light and delightful dessert!
