The top order batsmen once again flopped for England in the second innings.  Opener batsman Ben Duckett definitely contributed a fast paced 47 runs with full of reverse sweeps  and made a partnership of 45 runs with Jack Crawley (31) who also looked in aggressive mood  .  However, after this Joe Root (2) , Jonny Bairstow (10)  and captain Ben Stokes (8)  returned to the pavilion cheaply due to their over defensive approach . Root was lbw to Bumrah , Bairstow was bowled by Jadeja shouldering arms and Stokes was bowled by Ashwin.  Ollie Pope, who came to bat at number three amid the continuously falling wickets, took charge.  Ollie Pope, with his strong batting , made a partnership of more than 100 runs with Ben Foakes .  During this time Pope also completed his century.  This is Ollie Pope's 5th century in Test cricket. He played crisp drives and flicks and swept the ball with gay abandon as he compiled a classic hundred , surely one of his best in his young career.
