Mitchell, Phillips rescue NZ as Pak suffer 4th defeat in T20I series

Many days have passed since the One Day World Cup 2023 played in India.  The year also changed.  Pakistan even changed its captain, but the days of Pakistan cricket team are not good yet.  One defeat after another defeat seems to have become the destiny of Pakistan cricket team.  Despite having a different captain in Test and following a different formula in T20, Pakistan is still searching for victory.  Ever since Pakistan's new captain Shaheen Shah Afridi became the captain, Pakistan cricket team has not been able to win a single match.

In the 4th T20I match neither captain Kane Williamson was playing for New Zealand nor opener Devon Conway was in the team.  Pakistan, batting first, scored 158 runs for five wickets in 20 overs.  Only opener Mohammad Rizwan could play big innings.  He played an unbeaten innings of 90 runs on 63 balls.  None of the other batsmen could survive.  Former captain Babar Azam's bat, which has been scoring consecutive half-centuries in the last three matches, failed to fire today .   He could score only 19 runs on 11 balls.  After Rizwan, the highest score was 21 runs, which was scored by Mohammad Nawaz. Opener Saim Ayub and Fakhar Zaman  failed .

In reply the New Zealand team came out to chase this target, captain Shaheen Shah Afridi tried his best to make the match exciting by taking two wickets in the very first over.  Shaheen first dismissed Finn Allen on the score of eight and then dismissed Tim Seifert in the same over.  It seemed that New Zealand's troubles might increase.  Shaheen Afridi once again exploded in his second and third overs of the innings.  This time he dismissed Will Young for only four runs.  In this way, victory was far away and New Zealand's top three batsmen were out for only 20 runs through poor shots .

After New Zealand lost three wickets, Glenn Phillips and Daryl Mitchell took charge.  At first both of them played cautiously, so that no more wickets were lost.  The team's score first gradually increased .  As soon as New Zealand sensed victory, Phillips and Mitchell started batting furiously.  The team achieved the winning figure in just 18.1 overs and Pakistan's dream of victory was shattered once again.  Glenn Phillips scored unbeaten 70 runs on 52 balls and Daryl Mitchell scored unbeaten 72 runs on 44 balls as both unleashed  blistering shots to destroy the Pakistan bowling  . Mitchell was declared the player of the match .
