Pelmeni is a traditional Russian dish, consisting of filled dumplings. Here's a simple recipe:
Ingredients:
For the dough:
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup water
For the filling:
- 1/2 pound ground beef
- 1/2 pound ground pork
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the eggs and water. Mix until a dough forms.
2. Knead the dough on a floured surface until smooth. Cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
3. While the dough rests, prepare the filling. Mix together the ground beef, ground pork, chopped onion, salt, and pepper.
