Jaiswal , Dube powers India to series win over Afghanistan in 2nd T20I victory

India defeated Afghanistan by 6 wickets in the 2nd T20I .  Afghanistan made 172 batting first.  India won the match with 26 balls to spare.  Shivam Dube scored a half century in this match as well.

Spectators flocked to see Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli make a comeback in T20 cricket.  But the Indian captain swatted across the first ball and got bowled.  Virat started fluently  but was caught off  Naveen Ul Haque.  Virat got out after scoring a quickfire 29 runs off 16 balls and hit 5 glorious 4s .  However it was Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube who played match-winning innings.

Yashasvi could not play in the previous match.  He had a groin strain .  He came down to bat in the second match and explained why he is Rahul Dravid's first choice as an opener in T20.  Jaiswal scored a dazzling  68 runs off 34 balls.  He hit six sixes mostly down the ground & some went deep into the higher stands

Shivam Dube was unbeaten with 60 runs in the previous match.  This time he scored an explosive 63 runs from 32 balls in this match.  He remained undefeated in this match as well and hit six massive sixes  Rinku Singh (9*)  stayed with him.   India won the series by winning two consecutive matches.

Gulbadin Naib scored the most runs for Afghanistan.  He scored a fluent  57 runs off 35 balls and played some spectacular shots .  In the last over, Mujeeb ur Rahman scored 21 runs off 9 balls and Karim Janat scored 20 runs off 10 balls to bring Afghanistan to a fighting position.  The two Afghan openers Rahmanullah Gurbaz (14) and Ibrahim Zadran (9) did not score many runs.  In the middle order, Azmatullah Omarzai, Mohammad Nabi, Najibullah Zadranera also failed to score quick runs and got out relatively cheaply .

Arshdeep took 3 wickets for India.  He took 2 wickets in the last over.  Afghanistan's run could have increased further if not for it.  Bengal pacer Mukesh Kumar did not get a wicket in this match but he gave 21 runs in 2 overs, Rohit did not give him the ball in the death overs.  Shivam Dube bowled the crucial 19th over.    He took one wicket with 36 runs in 3 overs.  Coming to bowl in the 19th over, Shivam gave 20 runs.  The question may arise whether it was right to give him the ball in the death over or not.  Ravi Bishnoi and Axar Patel took two wickets each in this match.

Axar for his economical spell and getting 2 wickets on a flat batting surface was adjudged the player of the match .
