Aussies bowling resisted by Hodge - Da Silva as West Indies fight to 266/8 at close

West Indies fought back well after Australia had early success in day one of the pink ball 2nd test between Australia and West Indies.

Winning the toss and batting, West Indies were dealt with early blows when Hazlewood had Braithwaite (4) caught behind . Then Cummins dismissing McKenzie (21) caught superbly by Khawaja and Starc getting rid of Athanaze (8) , Chanderpaul (21) and Greaves (6) to rattle West Indies at 64/5.

Then came the brilliant rearguard action as Joshua Da Silva and Kavem Hodge got into a brilliant 149 run stand that totally blunted the Aussie bowling as they comfortably piled on the runs playing sensible cricket and impressive shots .

It finally took the guile of Nathan Lyon to break the stand getting Da Silva (79) lbw and that again opened up the gate for the Aussies as Starc soon dismissed Hodge (71).

However Kevin Sinclair and Alzarri Joseph got into the act . Joseph played attacking cricket getting 32 off 22 balls and played some impressive shots  before he was caught by Smith of Hazlewood as West Indies ended the day 1 at 266/8  which Starc claiming 4 wickets for Australia  .
