Warner - Marnus show takes Australia to big win over SA in 2nd ODI

Brilliant strokeful centuries from David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne took Australia to a big 123 run win over South Africa in the 2nd ODI at Bloemfontein . Batting first Australia piled on a massive 392 runs and then restricted the hosts to 269 in a high and fast scoring encounter.

Australia started in blistering style as Travis Head cut, flicked and pulled his way to an explosive 62 off 36 balls while Warner too was hitting boundaries . Australia reached 100 plus in 10 overs and but after Head's departure lost Marsh immediately as he tried to reverse sweep Shamsi and was lbw . In walked the hero of the first game Marnus Labuschagne and this time as a part of the XI . Marnus and Warner got into a brilliant 151 run stand in the next 21 overs.  Marnus started from where he left off in the previous game and looked in fine touch , driving , cutting and flicking with disdain to score at a rapid pace while Warner went from strength to strength smashing around the South African pace attack that included Rabada, Nortje and Jansen . Warner reached his ODI hundred in style but was out soon after for 106 off 93 balls (12 fours, 3 sixes)  bowled by a delivery that kept low from Phehlukwayo.

Inglis joined Labuschagne but initially he struggled to time the ball while Marnus was motoring along and finally got his 2nd ODI hundred with a reverse sweep 4 . Meanwhile Inglis got back his touch and played some improvised shots to reach his 50 before getting dismissed . Marnus too got dismissed after getting to a polished and sparkling 124 off 99 balls with 19 fours and 1 six and now has put his name strongly for World cup squad last minute selection.  Australia lost a cluster of wickets towards the end in trying to score quickly and finally ended at 392/8 .For the Proteas Shamsi took 4/61.

In reply the hosts started well under lights with DeKock (45) and Bavuma (46)  playing explosive and sparkling shots but both got out soon after a rollicking 81 run stand . Rassi Van der Dussein (17) was bowled by debutant Hardie and Markram (3) was caught in the deep off Zampa to put South Africa on the ropes.  Klaasen and Miller tried to repair the damage but Klaasen after looking ominous and hitting some glorious shots was bowled by Zampa for 49 off 36 balls and once Miller (42) was dismissed after a sluggish innings the result of the match was a foregone conclusion as Australia soon wrapped up the match winning it by 123 runs with Zampa taking 4 wickets with 2 each to Hardie, Abbot and Ellis . Australia won the game even after fielding their 2nd string bowling attack and showed great dominance in this game . Marnus Labuschagne for his outstanding 100 won his second consecutive man of the match .
