Asia Cup 23 : India v Pakistan super 4 game - Preview

The Asia cup 2023 has reaches the super over stage.  After Sri Lanka 's close win over Bangladesh, it is time for another India v Pakistan showdown and this time at Colombo .  Their clash in the group league stage was washed out after India completed their batting innings in which they were 266 allout after they were rattled during powerplay by the Pakistani quicks before Hardik and Ishan Kishan rescued the innings with a great stand .  With somewhat better weather expected and also a reserve day being provided for rain interruptions, the super 4 clash promises completion.

Pakistan so far has looked the best team in the competition with their batters in good form except Fakkar Zaman who will look to get some runs . The bowling attack has looked lethal specially during powerplays with Shaheen, Naseem and Haris in great rhytm . However their weak link is their spin attack and backups which India exposed in the truncated group  match . Surely India would want to capitalize on this weak link of Pakistan who may play seam allrounder Faheem Ashraf instead of spinner  Nawaz

India on the other hand has been below par and against Nepal the bowling and fielding was subdued . They are still in the process of setting their batting combinations with KL Rahul now available but Ishan Kishan's stellar show in the group match is likely to keep him in the team . Also being a lefty he gives an extra edge to the batting lineup which is full of righthanders .

Bowling wise  Bumrah will be back but India is looking to play Shardul ahead of one of the specialist pacers due to his batting ability as Rohit wants more depth in batting and wants his bowlers to contribute with the bat too .

On form Pakistan looks the more better side but Indo Pak clashes are always filled with uncertainty.  A cracking match awaits .

Pakistan XI: Fakhar Zaman, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (w), Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Faheem Ashraf, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf
