NASA expects life existence in K2-18 B planet which is 8 times larger than earth

About 120 light-years away from Earth, K2-18b may have oceans and a hydrogen-filled atmosphere, scientists said.  This was found out in the study by NASA's James Webb Space Telescope.  As carbon-containing particles like methane and carbon dioxide have been found on that planet.  As a result, scientists believe that life can exist on that planet.  This planet is 8.6 times larger than Earth and is located in the constellation Leo.  This planet is an exoplanet located near the star K2-18.  There is no such planet in the solar system.  They are equal to or larger than Earth and equal to or smaller than Neptune in size.  As a result, researchers are now moving forward with research on them.

According to NASA, the planet's atmosphere is rich in methane and carbon dioxide and low in ammonia, making it possible to have oceans.  Initial observations by NASA's James Webb Telescope have discovered a particle called dimethyl sulfide which is born on earth only from animals or plants.  These particles are originally from single-celled organisms in the ocean called phytoplankton

According to Cambridge University astrophysicist Nikku Madhusudan, the lead author of the paper, "Our research shows that the search for life in different environments beyond Earth is very important." The first K2-18b planet was discovered in 2015.  Thanks to the advanced technology of the James Webb Space Telescope, scientists have recently been able to study this planet in more detail.
