Siraj with 6 wickets decimate Sri Lanka as India win Asia Cup in style

It was Mohammad Siraj show in the Asia Cup final at Colombo.  The Hyderabad's pacer ended the game before it settled down into a longer contest .  Siraj took 6 wickets in the final of the Asia Cup.  Sri Lanka's innings ended for a paltry 50 runs.  Rohit Sharma's India boosted their confidence by winning the Asia Cup ahead of the World Cup.  The 100 over game ended in only 21.3 overs. This is the shortest final played in cricket history and the 3rd shortest ODI match .

On Sunday afternoon, everyone sat in front of the TV to enjoy a gripping  match but after the toss, it started raining.  The game could not be started on time.  After 40 minutes the game started.  The  pacers started to get help from the start.  Siraj rattled Sri Lanka in the fourth over of the match.  He picked up four wickets in that over.  Jashpreet Bumrah took a wicket in the first over when he had Kusal Parera edging and caught brilliant by a diving KL Rahul behind the wicket .  Siraj did not give any runs in the next over.  India had a good start.  Siraj made it even better as he started to stamp his authority .

Siraj dismissed Pathum Nisanka with the first ball of the fourth over.  He hit the ball outside the offstump and Ravindra Jadeja caught it brilliantly  low down at  cover.  .  The second wicket comes on the third ball.  Siraj's ball cut back .  Sadira Samaravikram missed the line of the ball.  The ball hit the pad.  The umpire did not take a moment to raise his finger.  Charith Asalanka is out on the next ball.  Siraj bowls the left-handed batter outside the offstump.  Asalanka was caught easily as Ishan Kishan took the catch at cover.  Siraj took the wicket of Dhananjay D'Silva in the last ball of the over.  The outswing ball was outside the offstump.  Dhananjay was tempted to drive through cover to hit a four.  The ball fell into the hands of wicketkeeper KL Rahul .

In that one over of Siraj, everything ended for Sri Lanka.  The rest was a matter of time.  Hardik Pandya helped Siraj in that task.  He took 3 wickets.  After losing 6 wickets for 12 runs, Dusan Hemant and Kushal Mendis tried to grab the match.  But Siraj didn't let that happen either.  Mendis was bowled through his defences by an inswinger.  Hardik took the last three wickets.  Dunit Wellalage caught by the wicket keeper off his gloves .  In the 16th over, Hardik came to bowl by changing the end.  He picked up two wickets in the first 2 balls.  Sri Lanka's innings ended in 50 overs.

India needed 51 runs to win the Asia Cup.  Ishan Kishan opened with Gill as both played some glorious shots without any pressure and India won the match in just 6.1 overs.

Siraj was the obviously choice for the player of the match and Kuldeep Yadav picked 9 wickets in the tournament to become the player of the series as India won their 8th Asia Cup title .
