Asian Games 2022 : Equestrian team wins historic gold for India after 41 years

 


On the third day of Asian Games 2022, Indian athletes have once again performed brilliantly.  Indian athletes have won the third gold medal today.  The special news  about this medal is that it has come from  Equestrian event -   horse riding .  Sudipti Hajela, Divyakirti Singh, Anush Aggarwal and Hriday Chheda included in the Indian horse riding team have performed brilliantly in the equestrian event .  It is noteworthy that for the first time in the 41 year history of horse riding, India has won the gold medal in the Asian Games.


 The Indian equestrian team scored 209.205 points.  Divya Kirti included in this team got 68.176 points, Hriday got 69.941 points and Anush got 71.088 points.  Due to these points, the Indian horse riding team was ahead of the Chinese team by 4.5 points.  Due to this India has won the historic gold



 This is the third gold medal for India.  Indian women's cricket team had earlier won the gold medal.  India had easily won the low scoring match against Sri Lanka.  Apart from this, India had won one gold in shooting.  India has so far won a total of 13 medals in the Asian Games.  There are 3 medals gold, 4 silver and 6 bronze.


 Earlier the Indian  Hockey team registered another massive win by beating  Singapore by  16-1  after their earlier similar win vs Uzbekistan 



 Apart from Equestrian, India has won silver medal in sailing.  Sailor Neha Thakur has performed well in sailing in the Asian Games.  Indian sailor Neha Thakur ended her Dinghy-ILCA 4 competition campaign with a total of 32 points.  Her net score in this game was 27 points.  Whereas Thailand's Nopasorn Khunboonjan won the gold medal.
