Asian Games 2022 : India win 6th gold as Shooters edge out China
India won their 6th gold in the Asian Games earlier on Thursday. India's Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal and Arjun Singh Cheema won gold in men's 10m air pistol event. They scored a total of 1734 points. China had to be content with silver as it got 1 point less. Vietnam finished in third place. This gold win took India's medal tally to 24 in the Asian Games. Among them are 6 gold, 8 silver and 10 bronze.
The finals of the 10m air pistol event consisted of six rounds in total. Three shooters take one shot each round. Sarabjot scored 95, 95, 97, 98, 97 and 98 respectively in his six rounds for India. Arjun scored 97, 96, 97, 97, 96 and 95 respectively. India's third competitor Cheema scored 92, 96, 97, 99, 97 and 95 respectively in his six rounds.
Indian shooters scored 284 in the first round. Their scores from second to sixth round are 287, 291, 294, 290 and 288 respectively. They scored 1734 points in all. India finished in first place to win the gold.
India had a tight fight with China in all six rounds. Indian shooters were fighting it out and in the end, three Chinese contestants scored 1733 points. As a result, they have to be satisfied with money. Vietnam got the bronze medal with 1730 points.
Manipur girl Roshibina Devi Naorem won the silver medal in the women's 60 kg category at the Asian Games boxing .
Meanwhile, Anush Agarwalla won a Bronze in the Equestrian-Dressage individual event as India rake up more medals in Equestrian .
Pakistan hockey team thumps Uzbekistan 18-2 to register their third consecutive win. Arbaz Ahmad scored five goals for the Green Shirts.
