US Open 23 : Its Gauff v Sabalenka in the womens final

 



Coco Gauff at 19 years reaches  the women's final at the US Open.  She will face Aryna Sabalenka in the final of he US Open .  None of them had won the US Open before.  The final Grand Slam of the year is therefore set to have a new winner on Saturday.



 Sabalenka is currently ranked second in the world.  She won the Australian Open this year.  The Belarusian tennis star played in the semi-finals of the French Open and Wimbledon.  This time she has the opportunity to win the US Open.  In the semi-finals, however, Sabalenka had to gain momentum to defeat American Madison Keys.  The match  was played in three sets.  Sabalenka lost the first set 0-6 after losing her serve thrice .  She won the next two games in tiebreakers after two extremely nervy sets .   Sabalenka won 0-6, 7-6, 7-6 to reach the final. She recovered from 2-4 down in both 2nd and 3rd sets under extreme pressure & found her bearings at the right time .   In the final set tie break in which a player needs to reach 10 points to win , Sabalenka nearly celebrated after she reached 7-3 but was soon made aware by her camp that it is the final set tiebreak so match not over . She however kept her composure to win that tiebreaker to reach the final 


 In the first semi-final, the American Gauff, however, reached the final after winning in straight sets.  The young star, ranked sixth in the world, beat the czech  Karolina Muchova.  Gauff defeated the French Open finalist 6-4, 7-5 in a very well contested  semi final that showcased some high quality tennis by both players . Muchova finally lost after saving 6 match points in the second set . 



 Sabalenka has won one Grand Slam, but Goff has yet to.  Last year the American tennis player played the final of the French Open.  Sabalenka, 25, will play against Goff, 19.  Will Sabalenka, who has the experience of winning a Grand Slam on hard courts, beat Goff this time?  Gough, however, is not a quitter.  The tennis world is waiting to see a fierce battle in the final of the year-end Grand Slam.
