Malan guides England to 3-1 series win over New Zealand
Dawid Malan was in outstanding form in the just concluded ODI series for England against New Zealand. His brilliant 100 was good enough to set up England's big 100 run win as the hosts beat New Zealand in the 4th ODI to win the series 3-1 at Lords under lights.
England lost Bairstow (16) early batting first but Dawid Malan held the innings together with sublime drives , flicks and pulls . Root (29) looked good before he was bowled trying to hit Ravindra who got Brook (10) cheaply as well . With Stokes not playing, Buttler (36) had a productive stand with Malan and Livingstone (28) added a few runs .Finally Malan departed for 127. Later cameos from Sam Curran (20) , Willey (19) and Carse (15) took England to an imposing 311/9 in 50 overs . Ravindra took 4/60 for New Zealand .
The Kiwis looked in trouble with cheap losses of Young(24) , Conway (7) and Mitchell(4) who was bowled by a sharp cut back from Carse . Nicholls (41) fought for a while but Latham (13) went cheaply bowed by Moeen. Phillips(25) resisted for a while but Ravindra played a fine knock of 61 but it was not enough as New Zealand kept losing wickets and finally were all out for 211 thereby losing exactly by 100 runs . Moeen Ali got 4 wickets and Dawid Malan for his outstanding contributions in the series was the player of the match and the series
