Virat Kohli finally breaks his 5 year drought of overseas test hubdreds in his 500th international game

Finally the wait of 7 years is over.  Once again Virat Kohli's bat has waved in the air on the Caribbean land.  On the second day of the second Test match against West Indies, Virat Kohli completed his 29th century.  Kohli needed 13 runs to complete his century on the second day of the match at the Queen's Park Oval ground in Port of Spain and he did it in half an hour.  Kohli made his 500th match memorable by completing his century with an excellent four.

Four months ago, Virat played a memorable inning of 186 runs against Australia in March.  Along with that century, Kohli also ended the drought of centuries in Tests that had been going on for three years.  After this, everyone was waiting for him to score a century abroad, especially in the West Indies, where he had not scored a century for a long time.

Kohli finally ended this wait.  On the first day of the match in Port of Spain, Kohli scored 87 runs while batting with full patience and returned unbeaten.  It raised hopes of a century.  Kohli, who missed coming close on many previous occasions, did not disappoint this time.  By sending the ball of fast bowler Shannon Gabriel towards the point boundary for 4 runs, he completed the 29th century of his Test career & 76th across formats .  Also with his 29th test 100, Kohli has now equalled the greatest Don Bradman who scored 29 test hundreds in just 52 tests .

Along with this century, Kohli also ended the drought of a Test century that had been going on for 7 years on Caribbean soil.  He scored a century on the 2016 West Indies tour, which was converted into a double century.  Since then, Kohli had failed to convert half-centuries into centuries.  Not only this, after December 2018, this is Kohli's first Test century on foreign soil.
