California-based electric car maker Fisker Inc. ast year hinted that the company plans to launch its electric vehicle in India.  Now, the company has confirmed that the top-end variant of Fisker's Ocean electric SUV is being brought to India.  The manufacturer has told that initially the company plans to bring 100 electric cars in India.  The top-spec variant of Fisker's SUV comes with the name Extreme in the global market, but this limited-run model for the Indian market will be called the Ocean Extreme Vigyan.  It has also been reported that the name is  decided  after the company's India headquarters in Hyderabad, which was set up in April this year.

Fisker has informed that the company is about to launch its first electric vehicle in the Indian market as the Extreme variant of the Ocean EV.  The all-electric SUV will be ready for India by September, with deliveries to begin by the fourth quarter of 2023.  This is Fisker's new electric car, which is said to be tremendous from range to power.

Talking about the top-spec Ocean Extreme, it gets a 113kWh battery pack, which together with its dual electric motors generate 572hp and 737Nm.  Thanks to this powertrain, this electric car from Fisker claims to hold a range of 707 km on a single charge and a speed of 0-100 kmph in just 4 seconds according to the WLTP cycle.  It is currently available for sale in Europe.

Even in terms of features, it is second to none.  The electric car gets a 17.1-inch revolving touchscreen infotainment system.  These include digital rear-view mirror, 3D surround sound system, heated seats, 360-degree camera, ADAS features and drive modes etc.

Fisker says that it will try to price the Ocean Extreme in India at par with the prices in Europe.  Its European price is 69,950 Euro, which is approximately Rs 64.5 lakh in India.  However, since the company is completely importing its 100 units in India, the price will go up further. Indian users may have to stay around the BMW iX, Audi e-Tron etc in the price range.
