Alcaraz beats the mighty Djokovic to win Wimbledon 2023 men's final

 


If you dream it will come true.  Carlos Alcaraz has proved that he will rule the world tennis in the next decade . How much devotion and concentration can beat Djokovic!  After winning Wimbledon, tennis lovers all over the world are in awe.  Carlos Alcaraz gave this message to the stars after defeating Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final.  The 20-year-old Spanish star made new history at Wimbledon by breaking Joker's dream of winning the 24th Grand Slam.


 World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and No. 2 Djokovic met in the final in front of  the star-studded galleries on Sunday where Djokovic is the undisputed star of the tennis universe having not lost a Wimbledon tennis match for 10 years on Centre court , Alcaraz is a promising rising star.  Where history looms before Djokovic, Alcaraz aims to unseat the current reigning joker in the tennis world.  And the traditional Wimbledon witnessed an epic clash of over four and a half hours of scintillating tennis that rivalled another epic between traditional rivals Federer and Djokovic in 2019 Wimbledon final.  


 Joker blew the Spanish Alcaraz by starting like a favourite in the first set simply blowing away the youngster 6-1 in set one.  The US Open champion made a great comeback in the second set after losing 1-6. He won  7-6 by sneaking the  tiebreaker 8-6 and  took control of the set.  The 20-year-old young Turk surprised in the third set.  He made the fight more difficult by defeating Djokovic 6-1 that included a never ending break of serve that deflated Djokovic in set 3 .  The fourth set started with a hard fight again after Djokovic took a 7 minute long break to reset himself after set 3 .  This time Joker put his opponent under pressure by using his own experience.  Controlling the pace of the game  again, he won the fourth set with a margin of 6-3.  But the last defence did not happen.  Alcaraz had decided not to leave the court without winning.  He won the fifth set 6-4 to win the Wimbledon title for the first time amid gripping  tension. It was a  breathless fight.  Alcaraz won the praise of Djokovic and the whole world after the thrilling  epic win .  He explained that it is possible to win the final with a cool head against the last Wimbledon champion and this year's favorite Serbian star which undoubtedly became an inspiration for the future.


Looking back at the epic match , Djokovic losing first time in the tie breaker in this years Wimbledon proved to be the turning point of the match as had Djokovic won the second set , it would have been all over for the 20 year old Spanish prodigy . Then came that marathon game in the 3rd set when Alcaraz broke Djokovic after both players traded game point with Djokovic netting numerous returns . That game deflated Djokovic in the 3rd set which Alcaraz won easily . Djokovic did fight back to take the 4th set but went down in the 5th for a rare loss in a  five setter . 


Both the players showed a lot of grace and  praised each other after the game . Djokovic conceded that Alcaraz played better on this day and his improvement on grass so quickly was amazing while Alcaraz played tribute to the seven time Wimbledon champion by mentioning that he  grew up by watching Novak repeatedly winning   Grand Slams . 


With the 36 year old  Djokovic not showing any signs of relenting , it is expected that Alcaraz and Djokovic will have a gripping rivalry for the remainder of Djokovic 's career .
