India-Pakistan World Cup '23 game may be rescheduled, causing logistical nightmare for fans

In the ODI World Cup 2023 , there is a big high profile  match between India and Pakistan at the gigantic  Ahmedabad stadium  on 15 October which is already a sold out    However now this date can change.  This match can be rescheduled again.  One must be wondering why would this happen?   The main reason for this is the beginning of Navratri from that day itself.  Garba is celebrated all over Gujarat during Navratri.  And then the venue of India-Pakistan match, Ahmedabad is the capital.  In such a situation, it is being said that the ICC has advised the BCCI to consider this.

Now if the India-Pakistan match is rescheduled.  Its date varies.  So this can also create difficulties for all those fans who have already bought its tickets and made all the hotel & flight bookings months in advance .  Even before the date change of the match, a big question can arise in front of the broadcaster who is already waiting for high voltage TRP.

A top BCCI official told The Indian Express that they are looking into the matter and will take a decision soon.  He said that it has also been told by the security agencies that high profile matches like India-Pakistan should be avoided during Navratri.

BCCI had released the schedule of ODI World Cup only last month.  According to the fixed schedule, the India-Pakistan match is to be held at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad with a capacity of one lakh spectators.  Apart from this match, 3 more matches are to be played here, in which New Zealand vs England, England vs Australia and the final match is to be played.  The World Cup is to be organized in 10 cities of India.

Meanwhile, BCCI Secretary Jai Shah has written a letter to all the cricket associations organizing the World Cup, calling them for a meeting in Delhi on July 27.  It is believed that the India-Pakistan match will be discussed in this meeting and a new date will also be decided for this marquee match.
