Chandrayaan 3 Location: the 4th orbit has changed, will soon embark on the highway

ISRO i.e. Indian Space Research Organization changed the fourth orbit of Chandrayaan-3 t  on 20 July 2023.  After this the orbit will be changed once more.  Then Chandrayaan-3 will go into the long Lunar Transfer Trajectory set for the Moon.  This path is the highway between the Earth and the Moon.  Chandrayaan's perigee and apogee have been changed.  Now Chandrayaan is revolving in apogee of 71,351 km and perigee of 233 km.

After the fourth orbit maneuver, the fifth will be done soon.  Till now earth bound orbit maneuvers were happening.  That is, the orbits of Chandrayaan-3 were being changed around the earth.  At present, Chandrayaan is revolving in an orbit with an apogee of 71,351 km.  ISRO scientists aim to take Chandrayaan-3 to an orbit of one lakh kilometers by July 31.  So that after that slingshot is done to go on the highway.

In the fourth and fifth earth bound maneuvers, only the apogee i.e. the long distance of Chandrayaan-3 from the earth's surface will be changed.  The next orbit maneuvering will be between 2 to 3 pm on 25 July 2023.  After this it will be put in the Lunar Transfer Trajectory.

At present, ISRO has not disclosed all details.  For this, for how long the engine has to be on.  Soon it will be known.  It will travel for five days in the Lunar Transfer Trajectory.  On August 5-6, Chandrayaan-3 will try to capture the moon's orbit.  Once caught in the Moon's gravity and caught in the orbit, it would be easy to land on it and will get rid of a big difficulty.

If the orbit is not caught then Chandrayaan will go behind the moon.  That's why going to the Moon's orbit from the highway will be difficult for Chandrayaan and challenging for ISRO scientists.  Although the propulsion system of Chandrayaan-3 will be started. It will be pushed towards the orbit of the Moon.  That is, it will be put in the orbit of 100X100 KM of the Moon.

The speed will be less to land on the moon

On August 17, the propulsion system will separate from the Lander-Rover.  After the separation of the module, the lander-rover will be inserted into the 100X30 KM orbit of the Moon.  Chandrayaan-3 will have to be deboosted to bring it into this orbit.  Means its speed has to be reduced.  For this, Chandrayaan will have to be sent in the opposite direction in which it is going.  This work will be done on 23 August.  The landing process will start from here.
