Rains continue to cause havoc in north & west India





Heavy rains  continue to upset normal life in major parts of Northern and Western  India as  weather updates doesnt give any soothing news 


Mausam Bhawan issues warning of heavy rain in Delhi.  As a result, the water level of Yamuna is feared to increase further.  Many areas of the capital were submerged due to heavy rains on Wednesday.  At the same time there is a severe traffic jam.  Delhi received 37.1 mm of rain in the last 24 hours.  Weather Bhavan issued yellow warning in the capital on Thursday.  Moderate rain will continue in the capital for the next few days.


 Due to incessant rains for the last few days, the water level of Yamuna again crossed the danger mark on Wednesday.  As a result, the administration again issued a warning in the low-lying areas.  On the other hand, the situation has also deteriorated in Uttar Pradesh's Noida and Greater Noida.  17 villages were inundated as the Yamuna and Hindon rivers crossed the danger mark.  According to administration sources, 31 thousand residents have already been shifted to other places.  1600 hectares of land has gone under water.

 The District Magistrate of Gautam Buddha Nagar, Manish Kumar Verma and Noida Athritya's CEO Lokesh MM assured necessary steps after visiting the waterlogged villages.  The district administration has ordered closure of schools in Gautam Buddh Nagar due to heavy rains.  Yamuna water-flooded naangli, Owajidpur, Shahpur, Govardhanpur, Khadar, Chakbasantpur, Basantpur, Yakutpur - including many areas.


 Maharashtra also issued a heavy rain warning from the meteorological department.  It includes many areas of Mumbai, Rayagada, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg.  Due to heavy rains, the administration has ordered closure of schools and colleges in different areas.  Several areas of Nagpur have also been submerged due to overnight rains.

The picture of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh is still the same.  These two states were devastated by rain and landslides.  Several districts of Uttarakhand, including the capital Dehradun, have issued yellow warnings.  241 roads in Uttarakhand, including the Harishikesh Yamunotri National Highway, have been closed due to the collapse.  The work of cleaning them is going on.  200 JCBs have been used to keep the traffic normal.  The  707A national road and Harishikesh-Badrinath national road were also closed due to landslide.

 On the other hand, 9 districts of Himachal Pradesh have been issued orange alert by the meteorological department.  They include Shimla, Solan, Mandi, Sirmur, Bilaspur, Kankada, Chamba, Hamirpur and Uttara.  There is a possibility of heavy rains in these districts for the next three days.
