Harmanpreet gets suspended as ICC comes down hard on her antics in Ind v Ban ODI

 


Harmanpreet Kaur will miss India women's next two international matches after being handed a combined four demerit points and a fine of 75% of her match fee for two breaches of the ICC code of conduct during the third ODI vs Bangladesh. 


The sanction comes after her open show of disgust towards the local Bangladesh umpires after she was given out . She broke the stumps, left the field in anger and then complained about the biased umpiring twice during the presentation using words such as " pathetic ".


Also after the presentation , during the photo session when the trophy was shared , the Indian captain was sarcastic towards the Bangladesh team as she called for the umpires too for the photo session  as according to her , the umpires tried hard to help the home team with their biased decisions. 


The Bangladesh vs India ODI series was drawn 1-1  after the third ODI was tied in an exciting finish and no Super over was played . 


With this 2 match ban , Harmanpreet is likely to miss the first two internationals against  India's probable   next opponents South Africa  .

Olympics24 : Ten men India edge out Britain in tie breaker to storm into hockey SF

  India reached the Olympic hockey semifinals by defeating Britain in a shootout. The match ended 1-1 in regulation time, leading to a shootout where India won 4-2. India played with ten players for 42 minutes to secure the victory. In the semifinals, India will face the winner of the Germany-Argentina match. A win in Tuesday's match will ensure a silver medal for last time's bronze winners at the Paris Olympics. Following the advice of video umpire , Indian defender Amit Rohidas was shown a red card in the fourth minute of the second quarter for unintentional stick contact with a British player’s head. Video umpire Goyentzen suggested it was intentional, and South African field umpire Sean Rapaport recommended a red card, resulting in India playing the rest of the match with ten players.
