Fresh rains in Delhi , Yamuna cross danger levels

Delhi was drenched in heavy rain on Saturday morning.  Due to which water has accumulated in different areas of the capital.  Meteorological office has issued a forecast of more rain throughout the day.  On the other hand, the water level of Yamuna River has started receding slowly, though it is still at the danger level.  But fresh heavy rains have left Delhi residents worried.

Along with Delhi, Noida, Gurugram also received rain on Saturday morning.  But Delhi's headache is Yamuna water.  According to the Central Water Commission, the water level of the Yamuna was 205.36 meters at 6 am in the old railway bridge area.  The danger level of Yamuna is 205.33 meters.  As a result, the water level of Yamuna is slightly above the danger level.  At 2 pm this water level may drop to 205.3 meters.  However, if it rains throughout the day on Saturday, there is doubt as to what will be the height of the water level in the end.

A few days ago, various areas of Delhi were inundated by the flood of Yamuna.  On July 13, the water level of Yamuna reached 208.66 meters.  Even the walls of the Red Fort were touched by the waters of the Yamuna.  Nigambodh Ghat, Delhi's largest crematorium, was flooded.  The water of Yamuna crossed the danger level a few days ago.  However, the water level started receding on Tuesday evening.  The water level of Yamuna was 205.32 meters at 7 pm that day.  After that, the water of Yamuna crossed the danger level again on Thursday.  The water level of Yamuna reached 205.83 meters at 10 am on Thursday.
