Hoards of fish were found dead on banks of Gulf of Mexico in Texas region last month
There are such shocking pictures of the beach of Texas in America which we will be shocked to see. Here last month thousands of fish have died in the water of Gulf of Mexico . In all the pictures and videos related to this incident, it can be seen that dead fish are floating on the surface of the water. Thousands of fish are lying on the seashore as if someone have dumped them there.
A mass of dead menhaden was found on Bryan Beach near the mouth of the Brazos River, a few miles offshore from Quintana Beach County Park in Brazoria County, according to the New York Post.
The Texas Parks and Wildlife Kills and Spills team and park officials said in a statement that the mass death was "caused by low dissolved oxygen." "When the water temperature rises above 70 degrees Fahrenheit, it becomes difficult for menhaden fish to get enough oxygen to survive," park officials said in a Facebook post.
"Shallow water warms more quickly than deeper water, so if menhaden become trapped in shallow water, the fish can suffer from hypoxia," officials wrote in a Facebook post. Officials said, 'Often before such an event occurs, fish can be seen trying to get oxygen at the surface of the water early in the morning.'
Officials said, 'Some fish may be at the bottom or even at the edge of the water.' According to park officials, more dead fish washed up on the beach . The situation worsened last month due to some of these severed skeletons.
Park workers were using machinery to remove the rotting remains from the beach . Officials said that the dead fish would naturally get buried in the sand and sea in the coming days. A warning had been issued by Quintana Beach County Park that the general public should stay away from local beaches until the fish have been removed.
