New Delhi & adjoining areas continue to reel under floods








Today 18th July  is the eighth  day of floods in the national capital, but Delhi continues to reel under floods .  Water has accumulated in many colonies.  Pumps installed to extract water are proving insufficient.  Once again an increase in the water level of Yamuna river has been rising.  On 17th July the water level of Yamuna has been recorded at 9 am at 205.58 metres.  Earlier at 5 am the water level was at 205.45 metres.  An increase of 13 cm was recorded in the water level of Yamuna from 5 am to 9 am.



 Due to the increase in the water level of Yamuna, many areas of Delhi are submerged in water.  Still there is a lot of water in the ITO area of ​​Delhi.  At the same time, due to rain in the morning, there was a long traffic jam on the ITO bridge.  Vehicles were seen crawling on the roads.  Due to water-logging at many places in Delhi, a situation of traffic jam has been created in many areas.


 An increase in the water level has been recorded in the Yamuna between 5 am and 9 am.on 17th July .  On the other hand, according to the flood department, the water level of Yamuna likely to increase further.  The water level of Yamuna can be recorded at 205.83 by evening.  According to the flood department, it rained at some places and 60-70 cusecs of water was released a few days before Hathnikund, due to which the water level has increased.





 Along with the increase in the water level of Yamuna, the rains in Delhi have also raised concerns.  According to the Meteorological Department, there is a forecast of rain in New Delhi this whole week.  According to the Meteorological Department, rain will be seen in Delhi  on July 18.  The current  temperature ranges are,  minimum temperature will be 27 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature will be 35 degrees Celsius.


Today, moderate rain will be seen in New Delhi.  There is a danger of increasing the water level of Yamuna due to continuous rains in Delhi.


 Due to the spate in the Yamuna, there is flood situation in many areas in Delhi for the eighth day today.  Thousands of people are still living in tents in areas like Mayur Vihar.  Stagnant water in colonies can spread disease.  Water is still accumulated in areas like ITO and Rajghat.  In such a situation, if the level of Yamuna starts increasing once again, then the people of Delhi may have to face more problems.
