WI v Eng : Wkts tumble on day 1 of 3rd test as Eng limp to 38/3 after Windies scored 282

From the start of the third Test, England has shown dominance. On the first day of the Birmingham Test, West Indies lost all 10 wickets. However, England also lost three wickets in their late-day batting, leaving them 244 runs behind and not in a very comfortable position.

West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite scored 61 runs as an opener. He was supported by Jason Holder, who scored 59 runs off 112 balls. Wicketkeeper Joshua Da Silva scored 49 runs. Apart from these three batsmen, the rest of the West Indies lineup did not make a significant impact. This was mainly due to England's Gus Atkinson, who took 4 wickets. Chris Woakes took 3 wickets, Mark Wood took 2 wickets, and Shoaib Bashir took 1 wicket.

In response to West Indies' 282 runs, England lost three wickets for 38 runs. Opener Zak Crawley scored 18 runs, and the other opener, Ben Duckett, made 3 runs. Nightwatchman Mark Wood was dismissed without scoring. Caribbean pacer Jayden Seales took two wickets, and Alzarri Joseph claimed one. At the end of the day, Ollie Pope and Joe Root remained unbeaten. They will aim to take control of the match on the second day.
