Dibrugarh Express suffers horrific train accident at Gonda as bogeys get derailed
A horrific train accident occurred in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh. According to initial reports, 10-12 carriages of the Dibrugarh Express, which was traveling from Chandigarh to Dibrugarh, derailed. The railway authorities have confirmed that two people have died and eight others have been injured. There are concerns that the death toll may rise.
The accident happened on Thursday around 2:30 PM near the Jilahi station, between Gonda and Mankapur. One of the air-conditioned carriages was severely damaged.
Pankaj Singh, the Chief Public Relations Officer of North Eastern Railway, stated, "The Dibrugarh Express met with an accident between Motiganj and Jilahi near Gonda. The cause of the accident is under investigation. Currently, rescue operations are ongoing. The exact number of casualties will be confirmed shortly. The injured are being transported to nearby hospitals."
The specific cause of the accident is not yet clear. The Uttar Pradesh government has already sent rescue teams to the site. Efforts to rescue passengers trapped in the wreckage are being carried out with urgency. Several individuals have already been taken to nearby hospitals.

Exactly one month ago, on June 17, the Down Kanchanjunga Express met with an accident. Just as the effects of that horrific train accident were beginning to fade, another train accident occurred. Following this Thursday afternoon's accident, the Congress party has instructed its workers to stand by the injured passengers.
