Indians keep alive more medal hopes in Olympics 2024 as Badminton, boxing Archery sees more Indians advancing to next round as under.
**Boxing**
Lovlina Borgohain has the opportunity to win a medal in two consecutive Olympics. To secure a medal in Paris, the country's top female boxer needs to win one more match. On August 4, in the quarterfinals, Lovlina will face China's Li Qian. Only Sushil Kumar in wrestling and PV Sindhu in badminton have won medals in individual events in two consecutive Olympics for India.
**Archery**
India's female archers keep the medal hopes alive. After Bhajan Kaur, Deepika Kumari has also advanced to the pre-quarterfinals. On August 3, Bhajan will compete against Indonesia's Diananda Choirunisa, while Deepika will face Germany's Michelle Kroppen.
**Badminton**
In badminton at the Paris Olympics, Lakshya Sen and PV Sindhu have advanced to the singles knockout stage. In the men's singles pre-quarterfinals, Lakshya secured his spot by defeating world number three, Indonesia's Jonathan Christie, in straight games (21-18, 21-12). Notably, Christie is the Asia and All England champion. While the first game was evenly contested, the Indian player dominated the second game. Meanwhile, Sindhu defeated Estonia's Kristin Kuuba. The match ended in 33 minutes with the Indian winning 21-18, 21-12.
**Shooting**
Swapnil Kusale has made it to the finals of the men's 50m three-position event. He finished seventh in the qualification round with a score of 590. Aishwarya Pratap Singh Tomar, however, did not advance to the finals, finishing 11th with a score of 589.
