Sound advice from elders brought lottery gains for a Baltimore native
A Maryland man credited his grandmother's wisdom for helping him win a $50,000 lottery prize.
The Baltimore resident shared with Maryland Lottery officials that his scratch-off ticket strategy is rooted in advice from his grandmother given several years ago. "My grandmother told me that not everyone can be lucky every day," he explained.
Following her advice, he buys two scratch-off tickets whenever he feels like playing the lottery. If neither ticket wins, he stops for the day. However, if one ticket wins, he continues to purchase more.
This strategy led him to buy a Mega Money scratch-off ticket at the EZ Quick Food Market on Mountain Road in Pasadena, which earned him a $50,000 prize.
He revealed that his grandmother's advice has brought him over $150,000 in prize money over the years. "I've won big twice before, but the last time was a long time ago," he said. "I wasn't sure it would ever happen again."
