Euros 24: France edge out Belgium & move to QF after a tight game

Belgium had to pay for the missed opportunity.  Scoring against France was not easy.  In between, Romelu Lukaku and Kevin  had two good chances.  But they could not score.  5 minutes before the end of the game, Belgium's Vertonghan scored a suicide goal while passing the ball.  Belgium left the Euro Cup with that goal.  France somehow won and made it to the quarter finals.

Despite being the strongest team in the books, both teams could not score such goals in the current Euro.  As a result, the biggest challenge for France and Belgium was to put the ball in the net.  No team played the Open from the start due to being knocked out.  They were attacking after keeping the defence solid.  Just as Belgium's goal responsibility rested on Lukaku's shoulders, so did France's reliance on Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe wore a face guard in this match as well.  However, the face guard in this match was different from the previous match.  Coach Didier Deshon was playing him on the left side.  Both teams were trying to dominate the midfield from the start.  France looked a bit more aggressive.  They entered the Belgian box several times in the first 20 minutes.  But could not open the mouth of the goal.

In the 23rd minute, French goalkeeper Mike Mignon was under pressure to save the Bruins' free kick.  He was stunned as the ball dropped in front of him.  Somehow, he hits the ball with his feet.  Both teams were mainly attacking from the edge.  As a result, the defenders had to be careful in the box.  After 37 minutes, Marcus Thuram headed Jules Kunde's cross.  But he could not keep the ball in the goal.  Chuameni's shot from outside the box went over the bar late in the first half.  Both teams went into the break with no goals.

It was the same game in the second half.  Both teams were playing a lot of passes outside the box.  But there was a problem in the final pass.  No one was leaving space for anyone.  Chuameni shot from outside the box again in the 49th minute.  Again the ball goes over the bar.  France was repeatedly hitting shots from outside the box as they could not get a chance in the box.  Mbappe's shot also went over the bar.  Although Mbappe has shown a few glimpses, he is still not available in his old form.  He may be playing cautiously due to his nose injury.

Belgium got a good chance after 70 minutes.  Thomas O Bruin caught Mangala's pass and gave the ball to Lukaku.  The Belgian striker hit a strong shot on the left foot after entering the box.  Mignon saved the ball by throwing his body.  At the end of 82 minutes, Maignan prevented the fall of France again.  This time he saved the Bruin's shot.

Belgium has to pay for the missed opportunity.  At the end of the 85th minute of the game, France went ahead with a suicide goal made by a Belgian footballer.  France footballers played several passes outside the box.  Kunde passes the ball to Randall Kolo Muani as a substitute.  He hit the shot with the current ball.  The Belgian defender deflected the ball onto Vertonghan's leg.  Belgium goalkeeper Koen Castilles jumped to the right.  He had nothing to do as the ball changed direction.  Vertonghan's suicide goal give France the lead

In the rest of the time, despite many efforts, Belgium could not equalize.  In the end, the third-placed team in the FIFA ranking had to leave the field after losing.  Although France reached the quarter-finals, the way they are struggling to score goals in the current Euro will keep the coach  worried.
