IndvZim: Abhishek Sharma's dazzling 100 powers India to massive win in 2nd T20I to level series

 


Forgetting the disaster of the first match, Team India made a majestic comeback in the second match against Zimbabwe to level the series in style . The Indian team defeated Zimbabwe by a colossal margin of 100 runs in Harare to level the series. Young opener Abhishek Sharma scored a breathtaking century for the Men in Blue. Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar gave a stunning performance with the ball.


On this day, Abhishek Sharma scored a spectacular century when he opened the batting in Harare. He amassed 100 runs in just 46 balls. The young opener's innings, featuring seven boundaries and eight sixes, will be remembered fondly. India posted a total of 234 runs in the second match, thanks to Abhishek's flawless century, Ruturaj Gaikwad's impressive half-century, and Rinku Singh's explosive innings at the end helped matters . Abhishek was on the offensive right from the start after the early loss of Gill (2) to Blessing Muzarbani . Abhishek plundered runs off the spinners but at 27  was dropped off a skier , Ruturaj was dropped by Blessing off the first ball he faced . Those two missed chances proved extremely costly for Zimbabwe as after that both batters never looked back and plundered runs at will . Abhishek timed his shots beautifully as the Zimbabwe bowlers wilted under his onslaught .


Gaikwad scored 77 runs off 47 balls after a slow start , while Rinku Singh hammered 48 runs off just 22 balls, providing a powerful finish and hitting 3 sixes off Zimbabwe's most accurate bowler Blessing Muzarbani .


In reply, Zimbabwe's innings concluded at 134 runs. Madhevere top-scored for Zimbabwe with 43 runs. Towards the end, Luke Jongwe played a brisk innings of 33 runs, bringing his team to a somewhat respectable total as Zimbabwe was never in the hunt. The hosts  innings ended at 134 runs, with Avesh Khan and Mukesh Kumar each taking 3 wickets. Ravi Bishnoi also contributed by taking 2 wickets.
