IndvSL: India pulls off a hiest in final T20I as Sri Lankan batter implode from winning position

India secured a T20 series win against Sri Lanka with a thrilling Super Over victory in the third match, thanks to Suryakumar Yadav and his team. After batting first on Tuesday, India scored 137 runs for the loss of 9 wickets. In response, Sri Lanka also made 137 runs for 8 wickets.

With the match tied, it went to a Super Over. Suryakumar handed the ball to Washington Sundar. Despite a wide on the first ball, Washington dismissed Kusal Perera and Pathum Nissanka within three deliveries, restricting Sri Lanka to just 2 runs. Suryakumar then hit a boundary on the first ball, securing the win for India. Sri Lanka, who seemed poised to win, let the match slip away. India's victory was largely thanks to bowlers Rinku Singh and Suryakumar, who each took 2 wickets in the 19th and 20th overs, respectively, to bring India back into the game.

Earlier, Sri Lanka won the toss and opted to bowl first. India's top order struggled, except for vice-captain Shubman Gill. Yashasvi Jaiswal (10 off 9 balls), Sanju Samson (0 off 4), Rinku (1 off 2), and Suryakumar (8 off 9) were all dismissed cheaply. Sanju failed to score in two consecutive matches. Shivam Dube (13 off 14) also couldn't provide stability. Shubman held one end, scoring 39 runs off 37 balls, including three fours. With the team in trouble at 48 for 5, a seventh-wicket partnership between Riyan Parag (26 off 18) and Washington (25 off 18) helped India reach a fighting total. Ravi Bishnoi remained unbeaten with 8 runs.

Among Sri Lankan bowlers, Maheesh Theekshana was the most successful, taking 3 wickets for 28 runs. Wanindu Hasaranga took 2 wickets for 29 runs, Asitha Fernando 1 for 11, Chamindu Wijesinghe 1 for 17, and Ramesh Mendis 1 for 26.

Chasing 138, Sri Lankan batters played confidently. The Indian bowlers couldn't trouble them much on the Pallekele pitch. Nissanka and Kusal Mendis added 58 runs for the first wicket. Nissanka scored 26 off 27 balls with five fours, while Mendis contributed 43 off 41 balls with three fours. After Nissanka's dismissal, Mendis partnered with Kusal Perera, who scored 46 off 34 balls with five fours. Hasaranga (3 off 4) and Asalanka (0) were dismissed in quick succession, creating some pressure. In the 18th over, India's Khaleel Ahmed bowled poorly, delivering five wides and helping Sri Lanka. Ramesh Mendis (3) also failed. With only a handful of runs needed in the last 2 overs ,Surya stunned everyone by bringing in Rinku to bowl the 19th over and Rinku delivered by getting 2 wickets helped by some careless batting by the Lankans .With last over left  Sri Lanka needed 6 off 6 runs and Surya made everyone gasp with disbelief by bringing on himself instead of going to Siraj . Surya ended up by taking 2 wickets and taking the match to a tie where India won .

This stunning collapse 27  for 6 wont be forgotten by Sri Lanka early .

India's most successful bowler was Rinku Singh, taking 2 wickets for 3 runs. He tried to bring India back into the game in the 19th over. Suryakumar also took 2 wickets for 5 runs in the final over. Washington Sundar and Ravi Bishnoi each took 2 wickets, conceding 23 and 38 runs, respectively.
