Sciver , Wyatt sparkle as Eng W outplay India W in 1st T20I

 




Fabulous batting by Dani Wyatt & Nat Sciver Brunt and controlled bowling by England spinners , helped England women to put on a dominating show vs India in the 1st T20I at Wankhede stadium Mumbai 

Batting first England was rocked early by the brilliance of Renuka Singh who had Dunkley played on and then bowled Capsey 1st ball with an unplayable delivery that pitched & move enough to beat the bat and hit top of off .

However Dani Wyatt (74) and Nat Sciver Brunt (77) both played sparkling shots to put the pressure back on India quickly as their 138 run stand put England in front with great finishing by Amy Jones(23 in 9 balls) .For India Renuka Singh took 3/27 but the rest of the bowlers including two debutants  leaked runs . Indian fielding was poor with chances dropped & runs leaked.  


In reply India were rocked early with Mandhana (6) getting bowled by Nat Sciver . Jemima (4) went cheaply too but Harmanpreet and Shafali batted confidently and  got into a good partnership that kept India interested.  However once the English spinners Ecclestone & Glenn got into the groove , runs dried up as Harmanpreet (26) and later Shafali (52)  and Richa (21) fell and the game got done and dusted . Ecclestone  (3/15) was the most successful bowler for England as they took the lead in the series 1-0. 

Nat Sciver for her 77 and 1 wicket got the player of the match.
