India crush SA by 106 runs to level series after Surya , Kuldeep show

 


An explosive 100 by skipper Surya Kumar Yadav and some brilliant Indian bowling culminating in a quick 5 wicket haul for birthday boy Kuldeep Yadav helped India to level the 3 match T20I series vs South Africa .


Put into bat first India lost a promising looking Gill who after hitting two crisp 4s was lbw to Maharaj for 12 but did not review the lbw verdict  as the ball missed the stumps on replays .  Maharaj got Tilak caught at mid off for 0 off the next ball .


However skipper Surya Kumar Yadav  joined Yashasvi Jaiswal and both started to dominate the bowling with imperious hitting . Ball travelled to all parts of the stadium as the Indian score moved at galloping pace . Jaiswal was cutting and pulling with disdain while Surya played his powerful wristy  flicks for outrageous sixes . The pair added 112 at rollicking pace before Jaiswal departed for a sparkling 60 off 41 balls .


However Surya kept motoring along as he dominated the innings with explosive shots . Rinku scored  14 but not much contributions came from the lower order . Surya reached his outstanding 100 off 55 balls before departing and India finally reached 201/7 in 20 overs .Maharaj and Wiliams took 2 wickets each .


In reply , the Jndian bowlers came out with intent as Siraj bowled a fiery maiden over . Mukesh Kumar took the first wicket getting Breetzke (4) bowled . Though Markram (25) and Reeza Hendricks (8) threatened briefly , the brilliant  runout of Hendricks by Siraj turned the game in India 's favour . From there it was a downward slide for the Proteas as Markram (25) skied Jadeja to be caught by Jaiswal and Klaasen (5) was caught at the boundary by a running Rinku off Arshdeep . David Miller survived a loud caught behind appeal against Jadeja as the ball was spinning but the Kuldeep Yadav show had already started at the other end with Farrera (12) and Maharaj (1) getting bowled . Phehlukwayo was caught and bowled by Jadeja and then Kudeep got the last 3 wickets including Miller (35) lbw to finish with 5/17 . South Africa were 95 all out in just 14 overs to lose by 106 runs .


Surya Kumar Yadav was both the player of the match and player of the series and the series was shared at 1-1 .

Red alert of more heavy rains in Maharashtra, closures announced in schools, colleges in some districts

  It is raining continuously in many districts of Maharashtra.  The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for 4 districts, expressing the possibility of heavy to very heavy rains in the state today i.e. on Thursday.  Keeping this in mind, a holiday has been declared today (July 27) for schools and colleges in Mumbai, Thane, Ratnagiri and Chandrapur districts.  Orange alert of rain has been issued in Raigarh district.  In such a situation, the district administration will take a decision on the basis of the situation with Raigad district.  On the other hand, July 27 has been declared a holiday for all government, private schools, all colleges, all ashram schools, business and training centers within Panvel Municipal Corporation limits.  The Meteorological Department has predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall in Mumbai as well as Thane, Ratnagiri and Chandrapur.  In such a situation, keeping in view the possibility of heavy rains, school students of class I to 12 of all medium

Heavy rains totally disrupts train services in Mumbai area, CM orders early closure of Govt Offices

  Due to heavy rains in Maharashtra, the speed of Mumbai local has slowed down.  Many trains have been cancelled and diverted. Due to heavy rains in Thane district adjacent to Mumbai, the track changing point on the Kalyan-Kasara route was damaged, due to which train services on this route were stopped on Wednesday afternoon.  A senior railway official gave this information.  The Central Railway also informed that it has diverted some mail and express trains on Diva-Panvel-Karjat route and Daund-Manmad route, besides terminating some trains between Mumbai and Pune.   Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Wednesday ordered that the government offices in Mumbai and the neighboring region should be closed early.
