SA bulldoze to a DLS 5 wkt win in 2nd T20I as Rinku masterclass go in vain

 




After the 1st T20I was washed out due to rains at Durban, South Africa has defeated Team India by 5 wickets in the second T-20 match of the series played on Tuesday.  In this rain-affected match, the target was changed, which benefited the South African team and ultimately it won.  Team India had scored 180 runs while batting first, in reply South Africa had got a revised target due to rain which was 152 runs in 15 overs.  South Africa achieved this target in just 14 overs.


 For Africa, captain Aiden Markram scored 30 runs in 17 balls and Reeza Hendricks scored a breathtaking 49 runs in 27 balls which was studded with fierce boundaries & sixes as he gave the Proteas an electrifying start in reply to a formidable target .  Due to the explosive innings of both, Africa got a strong start and was able to register victory in the end.  In the end, Miller hit a quick 17. Tristan Stubbs (14)stayed at the crease and led his team to victory with Phehlukwayo (10 no) as the South African innings was full of explosive big hitting with few sixes flying out .  With this, South Africa has gone 1-0 ahead in this 3-match series.  The first match of the series was washed out due to rain.


South African captain Aiden Markram had won the toss and decided to bowl. India , batting first, scored 180 runs for 7 wickets in 19.3 overs.  After this the match had to be stopped due to rain. India were off to a poor start with both openers Jaiswal & Gill fell for 0 . Jaiswal tried to cut Jansen & was snapped up by a diving Miller while Gill was lbw to Lizard Williams.  For India, captain Suryakumar Yadav scored an explosive 56 runs in 36 balls, but the real star of the team was Rinku Singh who played a highly impressive innings of 68 runs in 39 balls and created a stir.  Rinku hit 9 fours and 2 sixes in his sparkling  innings. Rinku showed great maturity and adaptability by batting in different gears . Starting with a glorious straight drive off Coetzee, he took time initially and then started to shift gears with magnificent shots while finding gaps with precision . He hit 2 sixes off Markram of which one six broke a glass pane of the press box.


However even before Team India's innings could be completed, rain created a disturbance and last 3 balls could not be bowled.  For South Africa Coetzee took 3 wickets but Shamsi was the best bowler claiming  1/18 in 4 overs to get the man of the match award .
