Isreali Army starts ground operation in Gaza raiding several tunnels

A few days ago, the Israeli army entered Gaza and started a 'ground operation'.  They also destroyed several camps of Hamas.  This time, Israeli forces raided several tunnels built by Hamas.  They rescued a prisoner of war from a tunnel.

According to Israel Defense Forces (IDF) sources, an operation was carried out in northern Gaza on Tuesday.  Attacks intensified in northern Gaza after Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced there would be no ceasefire.  The IDF claimed that several Hamas camps were destroyed on Tuesday as well.  An Israeli soldier who was a prisoner of war was also rescued by attacking several tunnels in this operation.

The IDF issued a statement saying that 300 Hamas camps were attacked over the past two days.  Several anti-missile tanks and rocket launching pads were also destroyed.  The IDF says Hamas still holds more than 200 Israeli prisoners.  Among them are some soldiers.  The IDF rescued a female army officer from Hamas on Monday.  The rescued army officer is Ori Megidish.  Ori was among the 239 people taken prisoner by Hamas.

An eyewitness told Reuters news agency that the Israeli army clashed with Hamas' al-Qasm forces in southern Gaza on Tuesday.  Hamas claimed that they destroyed several tanks of the Israeli army.  However, the IDF counterclaimed that several militants had been killed, denying Hamas' claim.  A number of Hamas camps were destroyed
