Hayley Mathews breathtaking 132 helps Windies women to level T20I series v Australia W

West Indies women's team has achieved a sensational  victory against Australia women's team in the second last ball of the match .  Chasing a target of more than 200 runs in T20 format is never considered easy.  But West Indies has achieved this feat against the mighty  Australia.  West Indies won against Australia by 7 wickets chasing down a hugh 213 target .

After losing the toss and batting first, the Australian team set a mountain-like target of 212 runs in 20 overs. After Healy (0) departed cheaply to a stunning one handed catch by Campbelle & McGrath (4) was bowled by Mathews , Elysse Perry played a glorious innings of 70 off 46 deliveries and full of sparkling shots . Mooney (29) supported her and after Gardner's(2) cheap dismissal  , Litchfield came out and played an absolute blinder , plundering 52 in just 19 balls with 5 stunning sixes to score the fastest 50 . Wareham smacked 32 off 13 balls as Australia seemingly had scored a match winning 212/6 . Hayley Mathews took 3 wickets but she still had a bigger part to play .

It seemed very difficult for the West Indies women's team to achieve this target.  But West Indies women's cricket team captain Hayley Mathews gave a strong performance and led the West Indies team to a sensa victory.

Hayley Mathews played a breathtaking innings of 132 runs in just 64 balls.  During this, she also hit 20 fours and 5 sixes with lots of off side shots . Her imperious driving , cutting pulling was a sight to behold as the Aussies looked helpless . Mathews was well supported by veteran Stephanie Taylor who after a long dry period played an innings of substance scoring 59 off 41 balls and they had a rollicking 174 run stand ,  but the day was all about  Hayley Matthews who is becoming a more important player for the West Indies women's cricket team with every match. Even in the first T20I  which West Indies lost , Mathews provided the innings of the match with a dazzling 99 not out again full of sparkling shots .

In the last 2 overs West Indies required 25 to win but Mathews smashed Jonnasen  for 4 successive 4s before he was bowled trying to sweep with 9 needed . It looked as if West Indies will lose but Campbell and Henry managed to scramble the remaining 9 runs off Gardner as West Indies won with a ball to spare in a tense finish .

With this victory, West Indies have levelled the T-20 series against Australia at one each.

The Australian team won the first match of the three-match T20 series between Australia and West Indies by 8 wickets chasing down 146 with 50s from Healy & McGrath after Mathews 99 not out had kept West Indies in the game .  In the second match, the West Indies team made a strong comeback and won by 7 wickets.  Now the third and last match of the series between these two countries is going to prove to be a series decider match.
