Train accident in Buxar , 6 coaches of North East Express derailed
An Express train hit by accident in Buxar district of Bihar. Six coaches of 12506 Down North-East Express derailed near Raghunathpur station in Buxar. National Disaster Response Force and Railway officials have reached the spot. Railways has not yet officially reported any deaths. As a result of this accident, the train movement on that line has been stopped for the time being. Many trains have been rerouted.
According to railway sources, six coaches of the train derailed near Raghunathpur station in Bihar's Buxar district around 10:15 pm. The train was traveling from Delhi's Anand Vihar to Kamakshya. As soon as the news of the accident came to know, the local residents gathered at the spot. National and state disaster response forces and railway officials arrived. "Delhi-Kamakhya North-East Express derailed near Boxer station in Bihar around 10:15 pm on Wednesday," said Birendra Kumar, chief public relations officer of East-Central Railway. Six rooms were derailed. There are no reports of casualties yet. Railway officials are reaching the spot. For the time being, train movement is stopped on that line.”
Danapur Division DRM Jayant Chowdhury said, “At 9:35 pm, six cars of the North-East Express derailed near Raghunathpur station. Rescue work started immediately. It is not possible to say anything about the damage right now.”
Administration officials and health officials have been asked to reach the accident spot after receiving the information. Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said in a tweet that all assistance has been ordered for quick rescue operations.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Vishwasharma is also monitoring this accident. On his handle X (earlier on Twitter), he wrote, “I have received information about the derailment of Kamakhya-bound 12506 North-East Express from Anand Vihar. We are monitoring the situation closely. Trying to liaise with local authorities and other agencies.”
