Earthquake tremors felt in Assam & Meghalaya at high intensity of 5.2
Earthquake tremors were felt in Assam and Meghalaya on Monday. The intensity of the earthquake was measured at 5.2 on the Richter scale. An officer gave this information. According to the National Center for Seismology, the epicenter of the earthquake was at a depth of 10 kilometers in North Garo Hills of Meghalaya. At present, there are no reports of any property damage or loss of human life.
According to the information, the earthquake occurred on Monday evening at around 6.15 pm. During this time people came out of their homes. Actually the intensity of the earthquake was 5.2. Which is considered to be of dangerous level. However, no casualty has been reported due to the earthquake.
In fact, frequent earthquakes in the mountainous north-eastern states, especially Assam, Mizoram and Manipur, have increased the concern of the officials.
